Re: 82 Rabbit Project --pics
Great project man, kind of glad I went and browsed over Eurodrivers again.
How did you do all your rust work? Just grind out and weld in replacement patches or what? How much time overall do you think it would take to strip down an old e28 and grind out/fix all the rust on it? Just kinda getting an idea on whether to do all the rust/paintwork myself or just hand it off to someone else

Yup, you're right, it's his car.
I'll hold judgement on the Daytons till I see them on, will be interesting to see what the offset is like (how much it will poke). Props for something different though, Cups and classics are nice but I swear you'll see at least 2 sets of each at any given car show. Did the Ronals get fixed??
What colour is it? looks purple.

Re: 82 Rabbit Project --pics
As far as im concerned, daytons are not a vw kinda thing. Ive seen many examples from europe and im affraid it does'nt look good. ATS cups or classics compliment the cars lines and era much better.Originally posted by videodave View Postdaytons are definetly not a mk4 kinda thing
But hey, its your car. The above is just my .02 cents.
ps. Don't type cast people by what generation V-Dub they drive. You obviously noticed my user picture and assumed that because I drive an Mk4 I don't know anything about Mk1 cars or styling (ie. the look your going for).

Hey man. mk1 jetta coupe? or 4 door? my favourites. id say you save $$$$.
body work costs add up fast and take longer then you think. id get a welder and learn to weld. thats going to get you far. rebuild a stock motor or doing a swap?? either way take your time and just enjoy it. u learn alot.
Im helping my buddy on his coupe right now. should be sweet.
