  • Aston Martin DB10 For James Bond

Aston Martin together with EON Productions, the producers of the James Bond film franchise, unveiled Bond’s stunning new car, the Aston Martin DB10, on the 007 stage at Pinewood Studios.

The luxury British sports car brand is delighted to confirm that James Bond will once again drive an Aston Martin in Spectre. On this occasion, it will be a model developed specifically for the film and built in-house by the brand’s design and engineering teams.

Led by Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, the design team worked closely with the film’s director, Sam Mendes, to create the ultimate car for the world’s most famous spy.

Celebrating the great British brand’s half century with Bond, which started with the iconic DB5, the DB10 gives a glimpse to the future design direction for the next generation of Aston Martins.

Dr Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin, said: “In the same year that we celebrate our 50-year relationship with 007, it seems doubly fitting that today we unveiled this wonderful new sports car created especially for James Bond.

“To be partnering once again with EON Productions is great news for this company and for everyone around the world that loves to see Bond at the wheel of an Aston Martin.

“I’m incredibly proud of everyone in the team at Gaydon who have brought this special project from concept to reality.”

Production will be strictly limited to 10 of the bespoke sports cars, developed and built by the designers, engineers and highly skilled craftspeople at Aston Martin’s Gaydon headquarters.

Re: Aston Martin DB10 For James Bond

Not as exciting as I had hoped:

Aston Martin didn't have much to say about the DB10 when it was introduced earlier this week but a new report is indicating it isn't as revolutionary as we hoped.

According to Automotive News, the DB10 rides on the aging VH platform and features a Ford-sourced 4.7-liter V8 engine from the V8 Vantage. There's no word on specifications but the standard V8 Vantage produces 426 PS (313 kW) and 470 Nm (346 lb-ft) of torque.

Aston Martin will build ten DB10s and they will be used exclusively for the upcoming James Bond movie Spectre which will be released on November 6th, 2015.

Re: Aston Martin DB10 For James Bond

Aston Martin is celebrating the release of Spectre on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD by announcing plans to auction off one of the DB10s that was created for the movie.

Set to go under the hammer on February 18th at Christie's Auction House? in London, the model is one of two "show" cars that were created for the movie. This particular car was shown at the world premiere of Spectre and has been signed by Daniel Craig who played James Bond.

The car is billed as the one of the rarest DB models ever created by Aston Martin and is the first DB10 to be offered to the public.

The car features a carbon fiber body and a luxurious interior with leather seats, carbon fiber trim and aluminum accents. The model also has a 4.7-liter V8 engine that is connected to a six-speed manual transmission. It enables the car to hit an estimated top speed of 190 miles per hour.

Given the fact that the car will become a highly prized collectible, it has been painstaking authenticated by Aston Martin Works Assured Provenance. As part of this process, the car has "undergone a digital scan which has been verified and held in a secure archive for future reference."

The DB10 is expected to sell for over £1,000,000 ($1,424,250) and proceeds will benefit the Médecins Sans Frontières which is a medical humanitarian organization.

DB11 is also in the works with a bi-turbo V12...

I'd only pay $10 now that Daniel Craig has gotten his grimy hands all over it
