They have really tried to take the most simple approach to the automatic movement. I quite like it. I expect it will be reliable as my last automatic swatch is 15-20 years old and I've just now had to bring it in for service. It's fun, and fairly cheap for an automatic movement. That said, it is has a plastic body and the self winding weight can be felt (feels like ball bearings) as it spins which reminds you it is a cheaper watch. My strap is white leather. Several System51s have the rubber straps that handle water better if you will be wearing it every day. Also, the shop mentioned that a few buyers bought rubber straps seperately and swapped out the leather in order to make it more durable and easy to clean.

Another note on Swatch.... this year they started free lifetime battery replacement. I have a few others from early 90's that I brought in to get them going and was happily surprised.

Maybe not a lot of love for Swatch on here, but I picked up a Sistem51 automatic a couple weeks back.

I Also got a new watch over the holidays. Deep Blue Daynight 65 T100. Very impressed with it so far. Always wanted a watch with tritium tubes and this one has 65.

The only watch I would ever consider spending a lot of money on would be a Panerai. Just love those watches!!!!

    Something like this..........
