Pink / Purplish screen on Xbox HD DVD

Got an HD DVD player for my Xbox Elite and when hooked up through the HDMI we get a pinkish / purple hue to the screen.

Anyone know what is causing this? Do we need to return it?

bad cable perhaps? ive never hooked up anything with hdmi yet

bad cable would be my guess, our one doesnt do anything like that when hooked up with HDMI

I also have no problems like that with mine. Try a different HDMI cable first, and if that doesn't fix it return it and get another one?

the green channel on your cable is not making proper contact so the other colours are dominating, new cable or box required

Turned out it was a bug that Microsoft's developers fixed with the latest update. Turned it on tonight and it updated automatically and all is well again

LOVING the Elite. Been playing Gears of War lots. Going to rent a bunch of games this weekend to see what else to buy.

I like TDU, have not gotten too far into it but cool as you can buy cars, houses, and drive endlessly around the island. I even like when you buy a car it has real paint colour and wheel choices!

I enjoy the game but have not got to play it in a couple weeks now because of my crapped out Xbox

I believe Forza 2 demo went up last night on Live.

that TDU looks pretty cool.. its is only on live blair or can you play single? how's it compare to like PGR or forza?

TDU is ok, the graphics are nice but it seems to get borring after a while. I can't wait for my copy of forza 2 but in the mean time I will enjoy blowing things up in EDF 2017.
