    Re: Need your suggestions

I've started talking to Chris to see if his contacts can help at all. I really like the TT, but I can't say I'm in love with it... I was probably more in love with my 20th than this TT even though the TT is without question a far superior car.

I realize that I've paid a sh!tload of depreciation already, but what's done is done. The question is what is the best path forward. I'm sure the 2nd year of depreciation will also be very steep, so if I can get out now it might be best. But you're all right in that it matters as much what I get INTO as it does what I'm getting out of. If I just from one money-sucking car into another that doesn't do me any good.

I'm trying to compile a list of cars that I would be interested in if the right one came along. I would probably not import it myself as I'm not an expert at it and I'm not sure I care enough to learn... especially if that service can be provided by someone else at a reasonable cost.

Thanks for everyones input... keep it coming if I've missed anything.

          Re: Need your suggestions

I think I want to stick with a premium sporty car, but it has to have AWD because I've become a big fan. So something like an RS4, 996/997 C4 or C4S... any other good ideas?

            Re: Need your suggestions

            Audi RS4, S5, TT
            Evo, WRX
            Volvo S60 R, S40 T5
            Porsche 911 C4/C4S
            Lexus IS250/350

Those are basically your only AWD options my friend.

If you are interested in tuning/modding you might have fun with one of the sedans like the Volvo or Lexus.

If you are more interested in something sporty, and are leaving the TT, you are basically looking at another Audi or the Porsche.

I don't imagine you buying the WRX or Evo.

              Re: Need your suggestions

Good ideas. You're right, the Evo/WRX doesn't really do it for me... and I've never really considered a Volvo or Lexus so it's definitely something for me to research. The more I think about it, the more I think an RS4 is probably the best idea because they are about the age I want (about 2 years old) and could probably find one with reasonable mileage and price.

i'd almost go for an S5 but you'd probably end up being in the same boat as the TT

                    Re: Need your suggestions

S3 is only available in Europe unfortunately... I would love one though. An S5 would be wicked too, but they are too new... so yes, I'd be in exactly the same situation (or close to it).

                      Re: Need your suggestions

My buddy Matt is trying to get an S5 even in the states and availability is or is going to be low, and prices are high.

So yeah, RS4 is a great buy, they are definitely out there for $60-$70 US and I would consider the RS4 as an upgrade from either of our cars... honestly I would rather have it than a 911 C4.

If you want to get excited about the RS4 just watch that Clarkson top gear where he races the mountain climber. The sound of the car and the way it goes around those twisties makes me light-headed. The fact that most everyone said it was a better car than the last M3 (which many believe to be better than the current M3) says a lot.

I think that the Lexus IS cars are pretty fantastic looking though with great interiors and AWD.... IS350 is 0-60 in 5.3.... I wouldn't mind finding out more about them too, even though they're not euro
