Re: iPhone Nano
I have heard with the new incoming text charge change that you should be able to get out of any contract with bell or telus. People do it all the time in the states but I have heard it is trickier here. I am sure if you complain loud enough they will cancel it.

Then maybe for going to work on the train she has a big unit for email and texting etc. Add contacts? I use outlook, why would you have to use the phone itself?
I would love to have the option to use a micro phone for those times where it's nice to have a phone for an emergency, but you're really not planning on using it. I don't need to haul around an mp3 player, GPS, 4 mp phone, my entire phone book, web browser and email everywhere I go.
But the key is to be able to conveniently be able to switch back and forth.
So go with Rogers
Friend of mine had a palm (now has BB) that he used for work but at the end of the day he threw it on his counter at home and grabbed a RAZR or KRAZR or whatever it was. Just swap the sim card and go.
Man, I'm glad my horribly long contract is almost up, I may have some options, I've been with bell since they first came to Calgary.

Re: iPhone Nano
The iPhone shuffle would have only one button which would just call random numbers.

Re: iPhone Nano
I'm paying about $95/month for everything you listed (tax, all the damn service fees included).
Yup, I'm a sucker with an iPhone.
I can drop that by $15 if I want to drop the "iPhone value package" that gives me 2500 txt messages, visual voicemail, and a few other things.
It's expensive, but oh well.
My friends in the States are paying about $70/month for 650 anytime minutes, rollover, unlimited mobile to mobile, unlimited long distance (within the states), no roaming in the States, etc. . .
Yup Canada still gets screwed by the cell phone plans.

Re: iPhone Nano
Is he on a corporate plan? They usually run around 25% discount. I didn't think that they were discounting the new 6GB for $30 plan yet....

Re: iPhone Nano
I dunno, but the iphone nano just doesn't make any sense to me with those pictures. How would you write a txt message or even put contacts into your phone. The keyboard on the iphone 3g takes up pretty much half the screen already and with a screen half the size that doesn't leave to much room. I guess they could shrink down the keys but they are pretty small already. Might have to make it a clam shell style or something along those lines, with 1 lcd for your screen and another for they keyboard .... curious to see what apple comes up with if they actually do release a "nano" iphone.

Re: iPhone Nano
I think more people than you think have pretty large phone bills with out an iPhone already. You can also get an iPhone with your existing plan and add data if that better suits you.

Re: iPhone Nano
Check the rates now that Rogers has them, the are very reasonable.
