Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread
AVX is kind of Cineplex's version of IMAX. Without actually being IMAX. It's a larger screen, bigger reclining chairs, and a beefier sound system. Granted my only beef with said sound system is that they have the bass turned up too much, drop the gain on it a bit. On multiple occasions I've seen the screen itself vibrate.
They did an amazing job on the soundtrack, Daft Punk certainly outdid themselves this time.
I actually punched my friend in the shoulder and half shouted JOURNEY when the kicked on the power. Hah hah.

1st of all what is an AVX is it like a new IMAX or something?
Daft Punk indeed! lol other then me only 4 people were like it's Daft Punk!
Journey - Separate Ways was a great choice of a song at the arcade.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread
Watched Up! again earlier this week, but last night went out and saw Tron on the AVX screen.
Oh yeah, that was probably the best choice I made about how to spend my Friday night. The plot was a bit thin, but then again the original was too. To me it didn't matter, it was a fantastic fun movie.
The Daft Punk cameo was superb.

Someone mentioned Wes Anderson earlier, he's one of my favourite film makers.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread
Originally posted by Canadian Turbo View PostI order from Amazon.co.uk, usually end up making 3-4 orders a year from there. My wife and I are big British TV fans so we order a lot of the current shows (IT Crowd, Inbetweeners, Peepshow) as they are not usually available at all here. We also get a few movies as the British/Euro ones are often released there early and can often be cheaper too.
Some US movies are much cheaper there too, for instance I picked up The Nightmare Before Christmas 2 Disc DVD set in this last order at £7.49, while Amazon.ca is selling it for 31.99. The UK prices also include 17.5% Vat which we don't have to pay but we do pay shipping. My last order had 5 movies, 3 TV single series and 1 complete TV series (a 25 disc set) and it was $160 Canadian all in, shipped etc to my door. The only issue is these are all region 2 DVDs but I have my DVD player unlocked for all regions. I don't have a blu ray player, still sticking with DVDs as I have so many.
