How to finish garage ceiling??

Curious if anyone has ideas on this one.. i'm so annoyed with how my builder built my garage..

so i've had the entire thing drywalled for some time now but have to just finish off the part in the pictures.. but as you can see nothing lines up! there is a gap between the last ceiling stud and the roof..

i wanted to build shelving up across this entire spot.. i was thinking of maybe creating a fake wall up there with 2x4s and plywood then creating wood shelves out of 2x4s and plywood also and connect to that but i'm not really sure how i can join wood up the the ceiling studs???

I would just frame it up and then drywall over the framing.

i'm confused how to frame and attach it to the spot tho? i'm not the best handiman lol
if there wasn't the gap up top i would have it done by now. .having the gap makes me confused lol

You don't get drafts into your house with an exposed area like that? No cold rooms? Thats crazy...

yea my master bedroom is above that stick out spot and gets cold in the winter.. one reason for sealing the sucker up..

Going to have to say hire a contractor to do that part as you are going to want a access panel somewhere in that ceiling and you have going to have to get it sealed up properly otherwise your house value is going to go down drastically (well if you try to sell it in the winter). Also... way to many joints on the ceiling man and I see no tuck tape anywhere.
PS Keep in mind this is coming from a guy who just tore down a wall in his house to move it 2" to fit a new fridge....

Burn it, get the insurance, and build a new garage with a lift.

i think i will just extend the ceiling to the beam and seal it up and add insulation again

what do you mean about the vapour barrier???

i did all that myself

Did you tuck tape the seams and put rubber sealer along the bottom edges?

I don't follow what is wrong with the vapor barrier? There is enough hanging out to overlap the rest when he finishes it.

I would continue the profile across that is shown in the third picture, simple is better, easier to seal. Add access as required.

i put that black gunky stuff with the barrier on the walls but not the ceiling just stapled it up

My mistake, I thought that was how the builder left it at that end and you were just finishing it with drywall.
