I drove through it again on Thurs and the last speed sign I saw was 60. So obviously there's 1 50 zone sign right before it. %$^%$

Oh that's not too bad. I heard it was supposed to be $257.

Either way, I deserve it. :o

Pretty sure I was going nearly 100 on the yellowhead when it's 70. DOH!
I believe it runs about $6/km over the limit... so for 30km you're looking at around $180.

this is nothing but a tax grab. had i actually been pulled over i would have slowed down in that area.
Fsk!! I just got my first speed on green, and the same intersection too. And I was in the slow car! (I don't normally drive that route, I know all the ones on my normal path)

20 over, was 140 or so. Photo is dead clear (in PERFECT WEATHER on a SIX LANE ROAD), and they're clear on the lane as well. No way out of this one.

Oh well, my tax payment since I haven't been tagged in years.

yeah, but now you'll definately watch your speed there, won't you?

Yeah it sucks to get hit, but at the end of the day I get the point of trying to "hide the photo". It's because when they aren't looking, 99.9% will break the law by speeding. If you don't know when/where they're looking, maybe that means some people will slow down, all the time.

I love how people cry "cash cow"... it only generates revenue if people are breaking the law, if no one sped, it would cost a great deal to run, and would be critized for being "a waste of tax dollars".

Does anyone know if these are lane-specific?
Regular photo radar is no good if more than 1 vehicle is in the picture b/c you can just claim that the other guy was speeding if they actually bothered to send you a ticket. But what about all these greenlight/speed cameras?

I just got dinged in Edmonton on the yellowhead. There was an E30 driving right near me for most of the yellowhead and i'm hoping that he was caught in the picture (he's probably thinking I was caught in his picture too lol).

And while on the subject - I did a search, but only found a list of Calgary intersections. Anyone have any more info on the Edmonton ones?

There is no speed camera there.I have noticed this ever since this money grab went into play, but it does not mean that they wont put one there eventually. If you just pay attention to the "rectangular lines" at intersections you will know which potentially have "speeding camera" capabilities. As someone else had already mentioned, they only have a few cameras available, so they just swap them around every so often.

That section of road shouldn't be 50km/h in my opinion. I got one at that same intersection at 3am doing 70, 3 lanes of open road and no traffic....Guess it just felt like it wasn't a 50 zone....I have a feeling they prey on alot of that

they should all be ABLE to become speed on green if they were red light before. it would simply require a different set of coding for them.
all the requred hardware would be in there, the difference is its either constant ON, or turns on when the light goes red.
it'll always use radar as the trip sensor.
