huh, I think the movie showcased the go pros video capabilities more than anything haha. Has anyone here bought one of those go pros? i'm looking at buying one soon, they are pretty cheap and video quality looks really good.

I'm tempted to pick one up before I go out to the shore/Whistler this summer and mount it on my helmet. We'll see how the funds are at that time.

I have the HD one and its definately worth the money.

video quality isn't really that great. the real advantage is the image stabilization it seems to do.

The Hero cameras don't have any image stabilization built in. If you're seeing some in the video it's probably done in the editing stage.

I like the idea of the camera but the HD one does not have any form of preview window which would be a real pain to work with. You have to plug a computer in to see what the camera is seeing. Even a basic optical viewfinder would help frame the shot.

huh yea that is interesting, I was thinking for driving shoots on cruises and vid clips at car shows it might be ok though.

We sell them where I work, and we sell a ton of them.

I have one at the moment, it is awesome. I agree a basic viewfinder would be handy, I just took a few videos then checked them out, to calibrate myself with it. Works awesome, the 60fps 1080p is pretty handy. Plus the seemingly endless amount of mounts and such. I used the original one and it was hilarious, it was soo bad. So I was skeptical for this version but have been blown away.

I even have a proper sony bullet cam, with lanc cables and whatnot, and this thing blows it out of the water.
