I'm not a huge fan of the S60, but I'd definitely drive this one! Or the Polestar C30 that was on Top Gear! The Rebel Blue that they use on the Polestar models is so hot too!

I once had a dream that Volvo would produce something cool like this, I mean they had the S60/V70R so they were capable right? Then when the S40/V50 came out I thought surely with it being based on the European focus with all the crazy mods available something would trickle down but it never did. They just know that's not their market and probably shouldn't try.

Maybe that's changed. I haven't been on swedespeed since about 09 but I really love volvos and would love to see some modded.

I think it would be hard for them to compete even though this car is cool. Like Jason said it's not their market. Price might be another hurdle for Volvo and if the price isn't right it won't sell no matter how cool it is.

I'm in love! Beautiful color and so much POWAAAR!!!! The back end looks like it takes some styling from Ford's design book. Didn't Volvo make a hatchback similar to this awhile back? I recall seeing something on Top Gear about it....anyway needless to say they didn't take that one to the production line so I have my doubts for this too! =(

Though I'm biased (I own a 2011 C30 R-Design), I think the C30 is an underrated car. I've driven enough cars to make this claim. Too bad they aren't producing them anymore.

The only issues I ever had with the C30 was that they wanted way more than a GTI or even A3 and to be frank its also less practical a car.

If it had been the same price as a GTI then maybe.

A base C30 is $125 more than a base GTI. The most optioned up C30 only comes in at a few thousand more than the most optioned up GTI but is equipped options that aren't available on the GTI. The car has far superior interior build quality and is much less common on the roads. Despite being slightly faster than the GTI, I'll concede that it isn't as fun to drive.

The car has far superior interior build quality and is much less common on the roads. Despite being slightly faster than the GTI, I'll concede that it isn't as fun to drive.

We had a C30 R-line on the lot and I must say I thought it was a piece. Hated the interior. Car only had 30K and the leather on the seats was worn like a 100k car. Also the seats were very unsupportive (unlike the GTI). Really didn't impress me at all!

Mmm polestar. I have loved that variance since I first saw it on Top Gear. Although for w.e reason I have always thought the interior design is weird in all Volvos.

Although if the price came down to less than a M3 I could be swayed :P

The design of the interior is a hate it or love it design, that's for sure. The build quality is miles ahead though, sorry. But yes, the seats do wear pretty quickly.

Unfortunately I don't think the car will ever be produced, never mind less money than an M3. I'd say it's in a different class than the M3. Closer to something like a CTS-V. I'd drive it over anything in its class simply because of the exclusivity. Being 21, I don't think I'll be driving any of the 3 any time soon!
