I thought that points was only an Alberta thing too. I checked out there website and they have offices in other provinces. It's up to you, but i think it's worth a phone call to get all the info you can. Best of luck in what ever you decide to do.

Thanks for all the tips and pointers guys. I've know of points, but since its an out of province ticket I don't think they could help me out without it costing me more than the ticket itself. I'm just gonna pay the $171 and be on my way. No demerits means no worries of insurance going up so I really don't care.

Lars, he just copied the info from my registration which shows silver.

And before anybody even starts, yes I know my registration says silver and the car is white. Yes I know he could have ticketed me for that, yes I know i'm wrong, yes I know i'm a sinner, Lord please forgive me, yada yada yada.

I've gotten my answers. Mods i'll leave it up to you if you wanna lock this thread or not.

    I fight every ticket.
Speed on green tickets? Take them to court too, judge dismisses without saying a word.
    Fight the power.

You guys are hilarious. Why would he not try to get out of his ticket? I have fought every ticket I've got (2) and I never payed for either of them due to cop error. Yes, I was in the wrong and I knew what I was doing was wrong, but if I have the opportunity not to pay the $150 fine then I'll take it. I'm amazed some people are dissing him for trying not to pay a ticket.

pat you were speeding right? guy pulled you over for that? thats how i udnerstand the story pat was giving.
if so it wasn't a matter of discrimination, it was a cop doing his job because someone was speeding. ya you got a bit of a hassle after but no tickets no issues

So is a bunch of fleet vehicles with company logo's patch all along the sides of their cars/vans/trucks/etc.

Either way you look at it, IMO (and it is MY opinion) it was a dick move on the cops part and was completely unnecessary.
Artistic nature of the driver and his friend = you and your friends decorated your car making it stand out. As much as it shouldn't be done, as you pulled to a stop there is about a 100% chance that the cop judged you purely based on the decoration of your car. If you had a standard silver car and had the same level of respect for him I would bet that he would not have hassled you in the least. I agree that it should not be this way, but it is. That is all i am trying to say here.

In Pat's defense...I go to court for 90% of my speeding tickets...and I'm in the wrong MOST of the time...having said that, the reason I go to court is to at least get the ticket reduced(points and or amount of fine) or thrown out due officer error. I`m not baby, nor am I some skid working the system. Insurance costs going up is plenty of reason enough, and due to my job, its easy to switch my days off, spend an hour(if local)in court to save me a few dollars.
And yeah Pat...your car is artsy fartsy...but I like it! haha
