YET AGAIN.....I am going to just pay up and accept it as its not worth my time to fight. I did not get off lucky. Lucky would have been a warning. I still got a ticket, and I didnt know about the demerits but if I got those, then so be it. You are all retarded if you think i'm going to get a ticket and not at least see if there is an easy way to fight it or get it dismissed. That would be like being too lazy to print off an internet coupon before going to buy something....

As for the artistic nature of the driver and his friends, i'm not exactly sure I know what you mean. For one, I was cruising back alone, and two if you mean my vehicle, that should have no indication of how I am treated by the law. Yes my car is colorful and artistic. So is a bunch of fleet vehicles with company logo's patch all along the sides of their cars/vans/trucks/etc.

Either way you look at it, IMO (and it is MY opinion) it was a dick move on the cops part and was completely unnecessary.

i have the same issue, especially in BC where the cop is the judge, jury and executioner at the side of the road. they can impound your car basically at their discretion, and even if you go to court nad fight the ticket, you're still on the hook for impound fees and "pain and suffering" of being without a car for 3 days. It's complete crap IMO and i'm shocked it hasn't been challenged yet legally.

Respect is something that should be earned, not demanded. I would have had no issue with the cop if he gave me a speeding ticket. That was wrong, I need to pay. Fine. Hassling me about my suspension is a load of sh!t and is the reason he gets no respect from me. There are various rust bucket piles of crap that dont need to go through inspections or any crap like that which are way worse than my car when it comes to the maintenance department. Too bad the cop probably wouldnt look twice at those cars since they dont seem like modified street racer cars.

Its funny, he asked if my car rubbed being that low which would deem it "not road worthy", and I said no. He "called my bluff", checked my fenders, and realized I was right, yet still kept hassling? This is why he doesnt deserve my respect. Just like an opinion, I have the choice of who I choose to respect and who I choose to sh!t on. Such is life!

I came here looking for advice and some answers, not a life lesson. Grow up and stop acting as if you're never done any wrong

I'm not drunk little boy, you're entitled to your opinion, and I'm entitled to mine. You don't have to like it, but don't get all bum hurt because I don't agree with you.

Thanks Andrew, that actually explains it all perfectly. I'll still call to see what they say (who knows I might be their lucky 1 millionth customer lol) but I think i'll just pay it and forget about it. No demerits makes me happy enough. Just another part of the car game. Gotta pay to play haha

ticket doesn't need to have a speed listed on it and its not grounds for being thrown out. If you are fighting this you can ask for the officers notes as part of the discovery process and they will have to turn them over there. That's where if you didn't see a speed you could have grounds, but you've got to commit to the full process to get that information.

what was the actual infraction listed on the ticket.
did you get driving without due care and attention?
i've had a few of these and depending on what you got i can tell you what you'll likely see happen.

and to answer part of your question no demerits won't transfer over, and yes if you dispute you will need to go to BC to do it.

how it will work is this, you can dispute the ticket within 30 days, after that you are deemed to have plead guilty. If you file a dispute you can do that part in writing.
You'll wait a while and get a letter in the mail telling you your court date. you do in fact HAVE TO GO TO BC AND TO THE COURT to go through the full dispute process, it cant be done in writing. You can get counsel or a representative to do this on your behalf, but they are not allowed to give evidence. If you dont attend the hearing you're deemed to have plead guilty.

This is going to cost you more than $200 if you fight it through, between gas and hotel and missed work. My advice is pay.

Depending on your charge, if you dont pay you can get a letter from SuperIntendant of Motor Vehicles in BC asking oyu to turn in your license to them for X months, it basically amounts to a X month ban from driving in the province. I've had this before, you dont need to turn in your BC license but you cant drive there and if you do its the same as driving without a license.

Hahaha wow. So if everyone is behind the semi doing 70 and I am passing him doing 100, i'm going at an unreasonable rate of speed. lol like I said, Guilty until proven innocent!

when i lived in BC, i got a ticket for "driving at an unreasonable rate of speed" meaning that the cop didn't use any sort of speed trap device, but it was obvious that i was speeding, AKA 20 over? there were no demerits on my licence but i still had a fine to pay as "the police use different sorts of devices including the ability to accurately guess a speed that is reasonably higher than the posted speed", said the judge. can't prove anything? make up stuff.

I was thinking of doing that Ben (asking to see the gun), but after him hassling me about the suspension and talking about impounding the car, I didnt want to get cheeky and just cooperated. Unfortunately we live in a land where dealing with a cop means you are guilty until proven innocent so if he really wanted to he could have impounded my car and not released it until said inspection was done. At which point who knows what else they would try to nail me with. If that happened in Calgary (or if I was driving a stock vehicle), you bet I would have asked to see the gun!

RCMP im assuming? you shuold have told the guy that your buddy makes all of their boots! haha worth a try anyways.

No demerits like the others have said. But i fought a ticked in town here years ago and when i got pulled over the cop told me he had me at 78 in a 60 (i wasnt going that fast), so i asked to see the number on the gun. he said he couldnt show me. i went to court and the cop showed up and threw it out.

I dont know if that was the case in your experience.

Its also very odd that the ticket doesnt have your speed on it. I would say that would be enough to throw out the ticket
