    Anyone have travel connections??

    My fiance and I are starting to plan a month long trip for next year that involves a fair bit of travel and we are coming up against some complex flights and such and I was just wondering if anyone has a good travel agent or online source that might help us out.

    I usually just use expedia.ca. Flights are pretty customizable on there (one ways, multiple destinations, etc.)

      I used expedia for booking my Honeymoon as well.... Can't wait till December 27th They have very customizable flights, and their online system is easy to navigate. If you are going to "resort" style destinations, then they also have desks at alot of the major hotels.
      Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

        Yeah they actually had a very good price on a fun Athens to Cairo flight for next June.

        Where you headed Colin? Are you getting married on Christmas??

          I travelled quite a lot last year as part of my degree... I went over to europe twice, with 9 total flights (4 one trip, 5 the other) two different rail passes, three different subway/underground system passes, 6 hotel bookings, 2 hostel bookings, and a car rental. I do not have any personal connections, however I did about 90% of that through expedia.ca. I never had a bad experience with Expedia on that trip or any of my other trips.

          I have also used Travelcuts at the University in the past, but you really need to be a student for that to be of any help...

          In my own experience, a REALLY good travel agent is the best way to book trips, since they can make use of online resources AND have a few contacts or tricks up their sleeve. This usually requires someone who is quite tech-savvy and also has years of experience. I don't know anyone like this...

          However, a crappy/amateur/new travel agent is worse than just booking yourself online if you take your time and know how to use online resources to your best advantage. A lot of travel agents/agencies basically just sell you the package-of-the-week or else just do not put in the time/effort to get you a better deal.

          I am probably not telling you anything you don't know, except that I do think you could plan even a complex trip yourself using Expedia & similar.

            I know at my office we have an in-house travel person who will book that sort of thing for you...i guess thats not much help to you though Or to me as Im far, far too poor to afford fancy trips

              I'm getting married on December 23rd, and then heading to Cancun for 9 days on the 27th. I really wanted to go somewhere more exotic, but the finances weren't there to allow that. I'm really looking forward to getting out of Calgary for a while though.........

              Greece and Egypt are two places I REALLY want to see.... you're a lucky guy man. Those are two of my top 3 or 4 destinations in the World.

                I have used travel and cruise quarters for a few of my trips. Andrea Miller is the owner there and she was super helpful. She is the one that books all the cjay 92 trips and that sort of thing. She might be able to help you out.
