Did that once a tranny flush . However they didn't have a chance to work on my car today so I'll swing it by either on Monday or Tuesday so we'll see what happens next.

could you get away with putting new tranny oil in for a while?

So I went for a drive with George this afternoon, apparently (and I never knew this) I shift really quickly. even when I'm shifting by what I defined as slow I'm still shifting quicker than most.

So yeah it's a synchro issue on that side because I'm trying to shift faster then the synchro is engaging. Go figure.

Aside from that though it's still really kind of clunky and quite stiff.

See I could see if I could use my fathers garage, and invest in some new tools. First though I'll get it diagnosed. From there I'll keep my eyes and ears peeled.

Pull it out your self and overhaul it,those are easy.
Nothing that 12 hours can't fix and about 500.00 in parts.

Actually the only issue with doing a 6 speed swap would be the connectors and such. I'd need a bunch of additional pieces which I don't have or have a line on currently. Oh well, just an idea to ruminate upon!

I was going to get an alignment done in the next few weeks anyway, and pay off the remaining $300 from my VISA from my holiday. I might as well get it fully diagnosed at the same time. If I need a new tranny I'll sadly have to hold off on a new exhaust. DAMNIT!

started a topic 3rd gear issues.

    3rd gear issues.

So I'm not sure if this is a syncro issue like the well known 2nd gear fumbling, but I'll lay it out anyway.

My 3rd gear will sometimes, under very specific conditions make almost a sticking sound as you shift into it. Similar to how it feels if as you're shifting and the stick rubs against the edge of the track? It will make a sort of popping noise, like if you end up popping your hip as if it were your knuckles.

Now that's the noise, but here's how it will happen. It will ONLY occur if the engine and tranny have warmed up, it will only happen if you shift slightly faster than normally. Now I don't mean granny shifting, but just an average shift if you're puttering around town and aren't in any real hurry.

The other thing is this it will sometimes almost grind a gear if you really push for a rapid shift. It started on … Saturday the 16th.

    Thanks guys.
