  • Wheels Q's

Can anyone tell me how hard it would be or what I would have to do to make these fit on my car? ie. Pulling fenders etc. They are 10in in the rear with 215/40/17's and 9.5in in the front with 205/40/17's. Am I going to have rubbing issues. I don't know very much about wheels specs etc. Also I do not know the et. Thanks in advance!

Sorry it's an 02 Jetta 1.8t that they would be going on aswell with a cup kit.

    Re: Wheels Q's

It all depends on the offsets. We can't help you if you don't post them up.

ps. Thats quite a bit of stretch.

        Re: Wheels Q's

Duby T is correct. It will all depend on the offsets of the wheels.

Also,.. the tire fitment you plan on will be pretty tough to make work on a mk4. You'll have to be REALLY low. As in air-bag suspension low.

                Re: Wheels Q's

From the wheel/tire sizes you have mentioned you would have to be MEGA slammed to pull them off proper.

                  Re: Wheels Q's

Ok here it is the official wheels specs:

                  5x114,
                  17x8 et35 - 205/40
                  17x9 et45 - 215/40

With 25mm adapters...will this work better than the original sizes I had? Or will they look silly/small?

                    Re: Wheels Q's

Your setup will look very close to this:
                    http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4371218

                    He is running:
                    Front: 17x8 final et 10 205/45 Falken 512
                    Back: 17x9 final et 15 215/45 Falken 512

Your front sidewall would be smaller than his, your rears would poke 5mm less than his + a smaller sidewall.

He's tucking those skinny tires in the rear and has zero gap up front. IMO you need to be that low to pull it off.

If you aren't planning on changing your suspension (to coils) and slamming it I would personally pass and stick with your Axis that you currently have.
17's + stretched rubber + wheel gap = something is wrong (ride height or tire size).

If you are planning on makin the switch to coils then its a totally different story.

                    Just my 0.02.

Yes. You will need at least 35mm adapters in the rear to make them look semi decent. Front you could get away with a 25mm.

You thinkin of porsche turbo twists?
