Re: Paint the Long Beaches?
I painted my 5 spoke audi wheels to match my car, and they look pretty good, of course the car is Dark Grey.

Re: Paint the Long Beaches?
Yeah the front is just the duplicator graphite. I just painted them for a reference, not what I would chose for a final color. I like the steelies in black too, they're just meant to be. I'll pull the lbs back out and take a quick shot today for some pchop fun.
Big problem with lowering is towing. I'd lower but then no tow. So it's probably not going to happen.Last edited by CGDoig; 10-30-2010, 08:05 PM.

Re: Paint the Long Beaches?
what color is the front, is it the duplicolor graphite? looks slightly lighter then what i've seen before, but it looks like a good color for LBs. A good thing would be to take a pic exactly like the one above but with your LBs on and post it up on the Mk4 photoshop thread and see if someone will PS in a few different colors for you.Originally posted by CGDoig View Postlol actually yeah I used the card trick. Worked awesome. I would like them darker as well. Its more of a dark silver now. It looks a little darker in person as well. Lighting is hard on a point and shoot camera.
BTW just got my hail appraisal. 6k in damage, new hood needed. :(

Re: Paint the Long Beaches?
Looking at the side shot of you TDI, I think before you do anything, you need morelow. If you paint now with stock height it might look odd. BTW, the steelies look better black, but a stlye of rim and color also affects the overall look. If it were the long beaches, I think they'd look better gunmetal rather then full black overall. Your choice in the long run though. But I rec. lowering before anything else first.

Re: Paint the Long Beaches?
IDK if its the lighting or not, but a darker gun metal, I think, would look better. How many coats...and did you try that cool looking card trick?

Agreed.Originally posted by J-hop View PostI personally think its kinda neat, I wouldn't ever consider painting my wheels camo but it is nice to see people stepping out of the monotonous cookie cutter Mk4s we see posted 7000 times over on vortex

Re: Paint the Long Beaches?
Thanks guys, that thread is wicked. Tyler I was thinking about leaving them stock, but I'm getting rather tired of it. I wish I could afford new rims but these ones have brand spanking new summer rubber on them so I really can't afford new rims & rubber.
