  • Cruise Control not working

So I drive from Edmonton to Vancouver today and discover that my cruise control is not working. When I turn on the cruise control the dash light turns on but when I try to set the speed nothing happens. I pulled over and turned the car off then started back up and tried to set the cruise with the same results. Anybody got any ideas of what to check for? Car is a 2004 TDI Jetta.

Dead arm? Or a bad sensor on the set button?

How do you check if the brake switch or clutch switch is bad? I think there was a recall for the brake switch on my car several years ago that I had done. Car is out of warranty now.
