  • Project Messerschmitt (Corrado g60)

hey yall my names Kirk and heres my ongoing 'Rado build that I've been workin on forevers. I drive this thing daily and Im almost out of things to do, soon i'll be moving on to my 93 vr rado turb project....
bought this car completely stock apart from the lights, in this state: 1990 g60 Corrado

    kinda embarrassing i know

first order of buisness get rid of that tarded plate and get proper grill

Next was to get some wheels on there, kinda regret selling the sebrings now, but they went to a kid with a old mk1 roco so what evs

some 15" phone dials painted white i picked up did the trick. but summer soon came and it was time to drop that ***** wif the help of some AKs wound down.

the ugly amber signals needed to go too:

the rear of the car got a going over with some nightshades

The car couldnt get out of its own way with about 175 000 k on the clock.
as soon as I learned how to access the measurement mode on the MFA
I looked up in my bentley how much boost it was making I found the charger was fuckerd, making only 0 boost. I quickly picked one up out of a syncro Passat, after a few vac line fixes and some wiring repair twas running like a champ.

never trust your friends, atleast not mine

    cock pit shot:

OK, so i pulled up to a fellow driving a white vr6 rado at a light and needless to say he ran all over the poor g60 :(

SO, it was time to UPPGRAYED!

COFFEE COFFEE i like drinking coffee, eveeeeryday! (lagwagon) lagon fans anyone?

                    Re: Project Messerschmitt (Corrado g60)

                    the swapage shots:

                    let the madness begin
                    DSCI0467

Helped a guy tear apart his black Rado' that parted sometime ago and got a great deal on this PG engine, complete wif Lysholm! it runs the 14psi pulley which is tons. things got a header not entirely sure what kind and a o2a with a sachs clutch. apparently it had some machine work like deck/hone and shotpeaning n what not but i wont know until i break it apart, i just wanna drive the ****!

                    DSCI0442

unfortunately the coolant got spilled into bell housing and the clutch during removal but i wanted to take it apart n inspect any way:

                    DSCI0440

time for this dirty beast to take a break:

                    DSCI0487

                    tonz o bunz!

                    DSCI0498

cleaned up the bay n changed the rubber steering rack bushing with a poly, amazing difference after.

                    DSCI0507

                    DSCI0508
                    COFFEE!
                    DSCI0510

installed lc1 AFR for tuning purposes, got the gauge fanagled onto the vent. AND found this sweet ass 928 porsche wheel. when I pulled the stock wheel off I found there is a adapter sleeve pressed on, so I pulled it off with a gear puller and sure enough the 928 wheel fit the small spline like a finger in a bum

                    DSCI0458

                    DSCI0459

                    Hay, how u doin

                    DSCI0515

                    clinical precision:

                    DSCI0518

                    good times
                    DSCI0523

                    woo
                    DSCI0528

mission complete-o! so we get it fired up and its rich as F, after some co pot adjustments we get around 14.7 a/f mixture under load. so im going down the street toward home after this endevour, and the timing belt skips a tooth ****! so we get to timing it and replacing the belt and put the cam to the tdc mark, and.... nothing so theres this faint mark on the cam gear. hhhhhhmmm might as well try it. sure enough BOOM fires up. theres tdc... MAN! who does that.
