  • A bunch of savages in this town

    Calgary sucks.

Some jackass jumped on the hood of my car.

If any of you has size 14 feet, im coming for you!

Car 3 months old and it gets vandalized.

    Thank god for comprehensive insurance.
A couple little dents in the hood and they have to replace the whole thing. $1200 damage.

Oh well, if it was a ford, the dents would be 5 times as deep and I would feel like I was getting my (insurance's) moneys worth.

Sorry to hear that. That sucks. I'd be choked too. Where did this happen?

If it were me, I'd try for a Carbon Fibre hood...they've gotta be around the same price or cheaper...even if you didn't want the black hood...you can have it painted.

Where would you get one of these?

      What are the benifits?

I am ignorant about them, I guess.

Do you guys sell them at 5th Ave?

Do you guys do body work?

      Northlands (where I bought) doesnt.

Since my car is black, a black hood doesnt bother me.

A CF hood would look awesome on a black car [Stunning] Plus the weight savings would be noticable. The only downside might be durability. The dealerships don't sell them, but maybe check with concept1, or do a search on vwvortex
Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

CF hoods are generally pretty tough to anything you throw at them..

I believe I was talking about durability, and if you get the right hood for your car, you should be good to go. Although that clear hood does look AWESOME

                  Holy crap!

                  That clear hood is uber-cool.

How much would one of those puppies cost?

I have no idea where to get one of them.

Also, where can I find info on the weight of a normal hood, the weight of the whole car, and how much difference a cf hood would make in terms of fuel efficiency and acceleration.

Although, the point of a clear hood is hardly either acceleration or fuel efficiency.

I am going to have a wad of insurance $$$ to throw at this project. (I think) I can either get a normal hood and get a bodyshop to install it, or get a nifty hood and install it myself.

Here is the DTM CF hood. Plus it's a boser hood, so it looks even better This hood was called back I think cause of issues involved with it flying off at highway speeds

                      Looks good though [Stunning]

last time i checked that clear hood retailed for $790 USD. the company is going outta business though, so buy the hood while you still can! there's a guy selling a used one on the vortex if you want.
