Re: R32 Roll Call
Sounds good. I too will be sticking with the stock exhaust until I decide to go F/I and require a 3 inch system. As for coilovers, I bought the car with K-sports and while they certainly handle well, they're pretty rough for Calgary roads. The front springs are 9K or just over 500lbs which often feels too stiff for a daily (at least with these shocks). I might actually swap in some 7K springs up front and raise the ride height a bit with some 40 series sidewall tires to improve the ride.
It's funny you mention the Koni adjustables. Those are exactly what I've been eyeing up in terms of performance/value/comfort.
I'll try and get in touch with you in the near future....

Re: R32 Roll Call
Good stuff. I've done ALOT of research over the 3 years of owning the car so if you have any questions, feel free to either post them up or just PM me. I'm not running cams, I found the power increase just wasnt worth the money put in to get them. Same with exhaust, I looked into doing a full custom exhaust, but found thread after thread on vortex about people going back to stock and being happier than ever. Also, this is all based on a N/A car. Results will obviously be much different for FI.Originally posted by effanzo_mane View PostThanks Patryk. My 24V swap is getting all ready for sale but I'd still be happy to let you take it for a spin if you've got time in the near future.
The plan should take effect next spring. This summer I intend to take care of some engine/dogbone mounts, diesel geek shifter, rear brace, and hopefully some techtonics cams.
Are you running cams? What suspension? I'd love to see what other R's drive like compared to mine
As for suspension, i'm running Koni adjustable coilovers with Bluewater adjustable rear lower control arms. When you're looking at suspension, it really depends on what you want. You can either go looks/stance or performance. For looks, you have 2 choices...Koni or FK Silverline X. They are the only ones that will get you REALLY low (at least this is what most people say). For performance, I would say to stick with either Bilstein PSS9's, or KW V2 or V3's. They are pricier, but for a reason. They also go low, but not nearly as low as the Koni of FK. For a rear brace, I would say to go with a Unibrace.
I will tell you this, I got to drive a friend's .:R with PSS9's, upgraded front and rear sway bars, and a unibrace, and it was hands down the best handling car i've ever driven. The thing seriously felt like it was on rails, just incredible.
If you ever wanna feel what my .:R feels like, just shoot me a pm and we can meet up somewhere!

Re: R32 Roll Call
Thanks for the warm welcome and suggestions guys. I picked the car up in ohio and went on a marathon drive of 2400 miles in 3 days. Only 1 minor rust spot to touch up on one of the strut towers.
The previous owner installed the euro light switch which lead me to believe that I'm going to have to re-activate the DRL's but I'll check to make sure.
As for the odometer, I thought it had to be in Km's to pass RIV inspection at crappy tire? If not, then I don't give a rats about having the mileage in Km's.
Have any of you guys passed inspection without converting it to Km's? I know the dual gauge faces will suffice....

Re: R32 Roll Call
LOL. Nice Wookie indeed!
Welcome to the club!
FYI. It should have DRLs from the factory. At least mine did. If yours doesn't, something is up. Start car, release handbrake... lights should come on. As for turning the odometer into kms, I suppose its a personal choice but I would say... why bother? It's a non-Canadian car from the get-go.... might as well rock it in all its MPH, MPG and mile glory!

Re: R32 Roll Call
I believe it should have DRL's from the factory, pull out the headlight switch and see if there is tape over the one pin.

I don't think you need to have the odometer in km's to pass inspection, but it's a nice touch, Also swap the climatronic over the Celsius.
