  • Need help with diy wheel alignment

I've just done a wheel alignment one months ago with my winter wheels, but after I installed my Monicas the front needed about 2cm of lowering. So I lowered it right away but the toe is so out of spec that I can literally see the two wheels pointing in the opposite direction, I know the procedure for the alignment pretty well now but before I perform it next week I would like to know how to adjust the tie rods without lifting the car if possible and does turning the rod clockwise shorten or increase the rod length.

    very easy procedure.
    1. loosen the locknut (will be tight against the outer rod end)
    2. get a set of large pliers/vice grips
    3. clamp onto the rod
    4. to lengthen you would want to loosen the rod from the outer end, so if you are looking at it from the outside of the car i guess it would be a clockwise turn.
    5. once you get it to the desired length retighten the lock nut.

the locknut i am talking about (this is a pic during install, no need to remove the outer end like this pic)

Thanks mate, I guess you're a real pro at these jobs because you have the word "drift" in your name!
