  • VW Golf Speaker Issue

    Hoping someone can help me

    Car is a 2000 VW GTI VR6.

For whatever reason there seems to be engine feedback from the alternator? I am hearing it from the driver rear speaker.

    Any insight?

Stock or aftermarket components (head unit, speakers, amp, etc)
Feedback i have found usually comes from running power wires along side speaker wires

        Precursor to alternator failure?

I've had this happen in the past with other vehicles, before the alternator fails I heard noise through the speakers.

Do you have an iPod adapter? Mine does and it has a feedback from the alternator.

Filter caps in the head unit could be drying out. Have you swapped another speaker into that spot to see if the sound persists?
