I am going to replace my footwell bulb to a Red LED, however I am looking to install red LED strips in the car and I want to splice it into the stock footwell light, does anyone have experience in doing this?

I haven't tried it in my GTI, but I spliced in an LED strip to the trunk light of my old GLI. I just spliced it in and that was it - no need to do anything special. I don't see why it would be any different in this case.Last edited by CGY_GTI; 09-10-2013, 03:43 PM.Scott

It's more of how is it to maneuver around in the foot wells, taking panels off without them breaking, etc. I know both my old cars were GM and if you tried removing anything the clip would just snap off...Current: '13 VW JSW TDI
