  • Jetta GLI Edition 30

Volkswagen has introduced the new Jetta GLI Edition 30.

Designed to celebrate the model's 30th anniversary in the United States, the GLI Edition 30 has a trunk-mounted spoiler, special badging and 18-inch Laguna-style alloy wheels. The model also has red accents and will be available exclusively in Deep Black Metallic, Pure White, Tornado Red and Reflex Silver Metallic.

The cabin boasts V-Tex leatherette seats, red accents and red contrast stitching. There's also faux carbon fiber trim, special floor mats and "Edition 30" sill plates. Other highlights include a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and SiriusXM satellite radio. Moving up to the GLI Edition 30 with Navigation adds Bi-Xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, a rearview camera and GPS navigation.

Like the standard model, the special edition has a 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine that produces 210 bhp (156 kW) and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque. It can be connected to a six-speed manual or dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Jetta GLI Edition 30 will go on sale early next year and pricing will be announced closer to launch.

too bad they don't put real leather on the seats..

depending on the price of the A3 sedan people would be hard pressed to buy a jetta me thinks

      Re: Jetta GLI Edition 30

I really don't like this one...... There's nothing new about it compared to a fully loaded GLI with stickers...

EDIT: The previous Jetta's special editions are much better. MK5 Fahrenheit with a special paint job and special wheels, MK4 Turbo GLI with styling kit and upgraded brakes and suspension, and all the MK2/1 goodies. Disappointed with VW America.

Pretty dissapointing, special editions these days are becoming nothing but badging basically.

Yeah for a 30th anniversary special edition this is pretty terrible.

clicked on this link and I was quite excited, then i read about the car and saw the pic, no longer excited. Very boring and looks just like a regular gli. Maybe if they put in the 5cyl turbo and awd it would be a great car!

I hate to be blasphemous.. but VW has really lost that special something with their newer vehicles. They have none of the "soul" they used to. Considering how much I love my vws, its bad that I wouldn't consider a single model they produce anymore.

Edit: With the exception of any .:R iteration.. i'd still go for an older one before a newer one though.
