  • upgrade for front upper strut mount and bearing?

I really like the pro kit suspension system I installed and I was wondering about installing upgraded upper front strut mounts to firm it up a bit.

How will the ride be affected? Do I need to also change the bearings? Is there an upper bearing upgrade?

    Do you recommend the:

I would not look at upgrading the strut mounts. It will just make it harsh. If you want to tighten up the front end get some Meyle HD Control Arm bushing in the rear position of the front control arm. Or even a set from an audi TT cause they are solid rubber. You don't want poly in them cause you do need flex there but it will tighten the front end up a lot.

I would stay away from the poly bushings, they are extremely stiff and unforgiving.

I've got the 034 track density ones, they added some firmness but nothing too crazy

Get r32 control arm bushings and OEM everything else(plenty fast on the track with coilovers). You need these bushings to absorb vibrations to extend the life of your chassis. Honestly refresh kits make a huge difference already so I wouldn't bother with poly bushings(lube every two weeks).

Edit: these aftermarket companies will often exaggerate how "bad" OEM parts are compared to theirs, but vw spent quite a few hours designing their stuff so it shouldn't be that "bad". Lol

Looking at the parts there are 2 types of control arm bushings, the puck style and the cylinder. Is this front and back? Should I do both?

This is the one that you should replace.

Natty the other P/N is incorrect. It is P/N 357407182 for the front bushing: http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...ings/ES333443/
