SD card slot error

Hey guys

Does anyone know what the deal is with the SD card slot in a MK6 GTI? Only card that seems to work is a class 4 - 4gb. Tried a 32gb, 64gb, 2gb all giving me a SD card error. Manual says nothing. Was told up to 32gb will work.

Does it need to be in fat only? Might have to use a formatting program to use larger then 4GB if that is the case.
