WHAT?!?

The Volkswagen Tiguan will gain an R-badged hot model, which has been spotted testing at the Nürburgring with a five-cylinder engine.

Although VW remains tight-lipped on the details, VW boss Herbert Diess previously revealed to Autocar that there is room in the R brand for expansion, with the first model most likely to be an SUV. Diess said that the Tiguan and other SUVs would not get GTI-badged cars, as the GTI brand will only be expanded as far as the new Up GTI.

Would be even better if it was the older smaller Tiguan and not the new one.

The new short wheelbase guan is pretty much the same size as the previous gens. We only get the gross long ones

Yes an R Line already looks so much better than the NA versions I have seen, would be a very interesting choice and what markets it will be sold in!

i saw the new tig in spain this year.. they look pretty sharp compared to the outgoing for sure

The latest rumors suggest this may actually be a Q3 RS testing in a Tiguan mule...
