MK5 GTI

[Canadian Turbo]

The UK VW site has a configurator with options and prices for the MKV GTI up and running. Not a huge amount of options and the prices of course are hard to convert but I think this means we maybe getting close to seeing some MKVs soon I hope anyway. The site also says dates and prices will be finalized after the Paris Autoshow which is in late September, perhpas we will also get some info at this point

Wow, the side profile photo of the car looks bloody awful.

Like.. It's a special kind of ugly.. I suppose it could be due to the wheels, but I VW has gone too far away from the boxy look of the golf/rabbit/gti that made it classic.

I imagine the UK options will be different than North America, but...

Pros:
- Sunroof not part of a group of options
- Plenty of blues
- Armrest optional

Cons:
- No black leather
- "Interlagos" cloth?
- If you don't like blue cars...
- 725 UK Pounds for the Xenons

Well I guess I felt a bit opposite, I thought the side profile looked killer I was happy that they had white but we will probably only get half those colours, and I found black leather as an option maybe it is tied in with some colours.

i think it must be the wheels cuz the side profile looks disgusting IMO but other shots look alright like that vortex bio on the mk5 that looked nice..
but those wheels need to be destroyed they are gross 17 or 18s or whatever they should give more style options i would rock 14" steelies over those things

Bump this back up with the first official photos of a Euro Spec GTI. I really hope we get white here as I think it looks hot!! Arrival is expected third quarter 2005 with a price around $23,500US (approx $31,000CDN)
