Re: Holy crap a miracle has happened
It will probably be somewhat limited by the stock manifold etc... but... who cares it is so cheap. The 28RS is the smallest/cheapest turbo they offer it on though.Originally posted by TurboMedicWow, direct bolt on???? That would be awesome......time to buy the GT30R......heheKR

30 would be overkill......28RS though wouldn't be bad.....isn't the 28R virtually the same (dimensions and housing wise...)??2006 Colorado Xtreme | AEM CAI | Walker exhaust | smoked glass | -1" dropped rear | Avic D3 | 8000K HID's

Re: Holy crap a miracle has happened
The GT28R is actually much different, it is single ball bearing rather than dual I think. The compressors are basically the same however the turbine side is dramatically different.Originally posted by TurboMedic30 would be overkill......28RS though wouldn't be bad.....isn't the 28R virtually the same (dimensions and housing wise...)??
The 28R would be actually better for a bolt on because you might be able to get away with minimal fueling mods. A good cheap replacement for the K04. However ATP does not offer the 28R as a bolt on (yet).
With the GT28RS you will probably need to supplement the turbo with injectors etc.
ATP puts the GT30R into ther Stage IV however I think its too big for a 1.8L engine.Last edited by Kor; 03-04-2005, 03:58 PM.KR
