My Pirellis should be arriving next week and I'll hopefully have my 18s back from AWR soon. In the past, I've always taken my car to KalTire on 42nd ave, off of mcleod and they've taken good care of it. But I'm feeling a bit anxious about taking it to a regular place after having my wheels refinished. Does everyone use the same equipment for mounting? Tunerworks, where I bouht my tires, uses someone else but I can't remember who. I'm guessing TirerCraft, which is also in that area.

Re: Recommendations on tire mounting and balancing?
Not really, but every equipment serve the same purpose to balance a wheel with tire on. Plus and minus 5.0% off is the industry standard I heard. Some machines can achieve less % variation some can’t. Chances are you will feel nothing because you are using the wheels on the street. It will make more sense to care about the percentage off(+/-) if the wheels are going to mount on a race car because it is going to encounter a faster speed.Does everyone use the same equipment for mounting?
If you wheel need to use more than 6 oz. of weight to get it balanced, which means the brand you bought did a very bad job on making the rim.

Re: Recommendations on tire mounting and balancing?
Oh well most people know the story but my Dad got Iforged wheels for his TT and whenthey came to be mounted the rear offsets were wrong and did not clear the brakes so we spent a lot of time trying to get it to work as it was in a show that weekend. No problems with Harpers, they stayed late to help us out, good place!!Blair

Re: Recommendations on tire mounting and balancing?
Just called. Mounting and road force balancing all four is $150 incl. tax, but not incl. valve stems (gotta try and find me some stainless ones as Harpers only has black and chrome).Originally posted by TurboMedicFind out how much for a balance, I need mine done....Yuval

Re: Recommendations on tire mounting and balancing?
It seemed expensive to me as well. I'm going to give kaltire on 42 ave a ring later and see how much they'd charge.Originally posted by KorThat seems kinda expensive for 4 wheels though doesnt it? I would think $20-$25 each...Yuval
