The thing is that there is supposed to be a small amount of vacuum on the hose so that it pulls the air out. That is why it goes back into the intake system I think. If you just plug it or let it hang, it won't be as efficient. Some people just run the pipe into a can or something like that, but that is ghetto.

The catch cans can add some bling, i think the polished ones with breather filters on top look awesome.

I my self run a catch can on my car.. It helps big time cause it keeps the oil from going back in to the intake..
