  • Whoops . . .sister put washer fluid in coolant

My sister drives a 2000 Hyundai Accent . I changed her oil for her today and, while I was letting the oil drain, she decided to top off her washer fluid . . . only she put 500-750ml of washer fluid in the coolant reservoir. If it was my car, I'd flush it, but it's a farking mess of a job to do on a car I hate working on if I don't have to. I don't think it'll be much of problem, but I've never had to deal with an issue like this as I usually check reservoirs before I fill them.

    Thoughts?

            Don't worry about it.

I regularly put washer fluid in my ass-mobiles that either burn coolant or leak it. It works awesome.

The lubricity of washer fluid does not match that of proper anti-freeze but it is better than that of water of which 50% of your coolant ought to be.

Don't sweat it. I wouldn't bother flushing it. 500 ml isn't life or death.

Yeah . .. 5.5 L. Pretty small amount when you consider the ratio. It didn't set off alarms for me when it happened, but you never know - mixing chemicals can do strange things sometimes (like turn into alien goo). Fark it - no flush.
