Hey all!
I'm an ex-Calgarian who is living in New Zealand, but movin back in march. I've always loved VWs but have never owned one. .. But since I'm moving back to Calgary in March I was looking at getting one on my return. Is it possible to pick up a Golf/GTI with a 1.8T for 15k? I can find plenty of VR6s around but no 1.8s in that price range. Also, is the insurance that much different from a 1.8T Golf vs. 1.8T GTI? Anyway just wanted to say hello,

I don't know if you remember me but I'm Ians buddy that works for VW. I think when you left I owned the silver MK3 VR6 GTI (had a few since then). Anyways, give me a shout when you get back and I'll see what I can do to hook you up!

Yeah definatly lookin forward to movin back. Although the weather might be better here, good payin jobs are hard to come by in these parts. Plus with everything being imported, there is a high cost on everything.. except japanese cars ... i picked up my 96 JDM ITR for 17,000 NZD and gonna have to sell it now for like 12,000 cus the dollar is really good at the moment compared to the yen. So everyone is bringin cars over. But i really miss the way things are done in Canada, makes ya appreciate what we got, even the snow ...

Theres a silver 01 1.8t in cochrane for around 16.....on 15's...
