I got the plates changed on my car, and forgot to put the new plate on right away. I got pulled over, and the cop gave me a $230 ticket for "misuse of a plate". Does anyone know how long you have to change your plate on your car?

Colin, I had a similar ticket once for not updating the address on the back of my drivers license after moving. I think it was the same 14 day window or whatever.DerickComment

If you actually change the registration, you have to change the plates right away.
If you bought a new car, there used to be a 14 day exemption, but I can no longer find it in the new traffic safety act.Comment
