  • Machine shop recommendations

    Hey guys!
I'm looking for recommendations for a machine shop that can do a port and polish for an 8v head and somewhere that can bore the bottom end of my 2.0. I'm looking for somewhere that you'd take your own car to, not your Uncle Joe who is ok and can do it cheap. I want good reputation, people who stand behind their work and offer great quality for a good price. I had some issues and am slowly tearing down the engine for a rebuild, would like to get things all cleaned up and good for more boost and lower compression pistons.

Also any advice on rebuilding an engine would be appreciated on top of a recommendation (please leave any "why turbo an 8v 2.0L, 1.8 nevar loooose" out of it, we are not on vortex)

    Thanks!

My brother in law, just used prescice. They were fast and did great work.
Porting heads isn't hard at all, I just did my 20v head during the winter all you gotta do is take it slow and keep measuring you're ports.

I've used trillion in the past for my machine shop stuff, the guy there (Derek I think) is really good and he's into cars and motorcycles so he understands weird car project stuff.

I have to ask, Why put money into the 8 valve head they just do not flow if you want to stay na why not a 2.0 20 valve

Would a 20v even fit? I know putting a 16v is a common way of approaching it. But I am content with working with an 8v, it's already force injected. Just... Not working right now haha

16v head flows a lot better than a 20v head. I'd do a 16v head. Would be well worth it
