Get a drill and a spade bit and go to down. It's not rocket science

I could be mistaken, but I think Derek (Ginch) has a set of these. Would save you the effort, and you'd have a set of stock ones should you decide to sell the car.

It might make more sense to cut out the cat and go sell it.... they are worth some decent money.

There have actually been a number of cat thefts recently in the city.. people crawling under trucks and cutting them off in the street/parking lot. Some cats can get several hundred at the right recycling shop.

                    Re: Gutting out Downpipes

I do not see the benefit of gutting cats, unless there is something wrong with them. They are most likely not not causing much in the way of back pressure.

                      Re: Gutting out Downpipes

they have a huge impact on the performance of the car apparently. many RS4 owners on audizine have reported gains with just gutting these out or getting aftermarket DPs

i ll message GINCH though! would be sweet if he has these

Have you seen the inside of a cat? It's significantly more restrictive than the rest of an exhaust system.

If you daily the car just buy catless downpipes and get them swapped at a shop.

that was my other option. Catless aftermarket DPs are pretty expensive for the RS4 ($1000ish). JHM sells "piggies" which are essentially just hollowed out OEM DPs but even those come out to be about $700 CAD to the door.
