guys what plugs are you running for your stage 3s or did on stage2?

i'm going to do mine this weekend but dunno what plugs to buy.. searching AW/AZ there are tons of different opinions from bosch to ngk.

also how do you gap them? special tool from crappy tire or napa?

I went with some NGK-G or R from Crappy tire... they came gapped the same as the ones in the car so I left them...
but normally I use a little crappy coin type tool..

Bang them on a table then use the 50 cent tool to gap them.

Go with copper plugs if you want to replace them every 8k km's. Go with platinum or iridium if you want them to last for 20-100k km's, depending on your setup and driving style...

once a year is cool with me.. how much do those jobbies cost?

if the coppers work and are cheap i could do it every 3 months

i haven't driven too much lately the last time i filled up was may 22 and i've put a whopping 310kms since then plus got into an accident.. woot

I wish I only drove that much...do you take that shuttle thingy in Airdrie to work?

Oh, and get some platinum plugs and do it right the first time . You shouldn't have to change them again for quite a while.

Copper are the cheapest and best performing... but you have to change them on almost the same interval as your Oil... platinums last way longer, cost way more, and perform bit better then average. (The last ones I bought for my A4 were like 18 Each from Tunerworks.NGK BKREblah blha blah.

                        Don't know about that....

Depends largely on your setup. I've never seen any data suggesting that copper out-performs platinum in a standard stage 2 or less setup. In a stage 3 application, platinum is DEFINITELY the way to go (with a colder heat range).

The data Ive read always said Platinum was not the best plug by any means.. but they last the longest the most consistent... but also cost double to triple what others do.
The reason most companies dont push copper is the longevity.. who would buy a kit where you have to change plugs every two months?

Following Up... a post from EPL (One of the few premier custom tuners in the US) saying that Copper is a better conductor then platinum or Iridium, much cheaper but only last 1/2-1/4 as long.

Normally I take most of the AW posts with a grain of salt.. but there are multipe posts repeating the same thing... Good Ole' BKRE 7 or 6 Copper plugs.

seems i'll go with the copper NGK BKRE7's then and gap to what .29ish??

kyle nope i drive the backroad from airdrie to panorama hills thats all.. speed limit on the backroad is only 80 and the cops enforce it pretty good.. i got a ticket for 110 in the 80 a few weeks back so i usually do about 100 if i can but the cops are on it EVERY day during rush hours so yea 6th gear and 80-100 is pretty easy on the gas trip is like 8-11mins each way.. so pretty quick

thats why i love living in airdrie.. its basically NW calgary haha

although i'm starting to drive erins corolla and shes taking my s4 as she works in airdrie like 2 mins away from home so we are doing an experiment to see how long each car will last hahaha
