yea.. or you can make your own.. either way.. depends on how lazy and how much money you want to spend. rob sold me his for 160 bucks so i'll sell mine for 160 bucks.. easy enough.. minute muffler 40 bucks for the rewelding.. done

The 2.8 A4 and 2.7TT motor are essentially the same, minus the turbo's and their equipment. I'll meet you halfway and say that its an easy job if you are mechanically inclined.

Yeah, they're similar, but not the same. I'm not saying that the TB is the hardest job in the world, but since it does involve taking off the front end (rad support, etc), it's a several hour job.

Hey Jerbel,

Can you pm me a quote? I am looking to:

- Replace TB, cam seal, valve gasket, and water pump.
- front right CV joint and boot.
- Chip
- downpipe/piggies

Order of importance is in that exact order. I think I will pull the trigger by next Friday. I go to Shuswap from Aug 3-10 so I can leave you the car.

Unitronic, APR etc have dealers in Calgary. VAST you are the only guy though??

BTW, interested in selling your winters? They are 15"?

My winters are 16", and my interest in selling them depends on the price you're offering

I'm interested in seeing the price... I gotta do it fairly soon being at 169km...

And depending on my schedule (which is hectic as ****) I might have to have someone do it for me. Im not a fan of ro-sham-bo!!

Does the VAST kit include the tensioner as well?

jordan i'd buy the vast kit from you too.. i don't care who it comes from its just the lack of the lock bar/pin for me to do it myself. hrmm??

I think I will have you do the TB for me, including water pump, cam and valve gaskets etc. Can drop car off next Thursday or Friday. I am in the Shuswap Aug 3-10. If you are out there too, when are you back in Calgary?

Let me know the price for CV joint and boot for my front passenger side.
As well I like to replace the coolant reservior and replace the fluid with the pink G12 stuff.

Piggies and chip I might hold. Chip I might go with another vendor cuz if you are the only VAST rep in Canada, once you get married 'wife' might say no working on cars and I will be out of luck if I need something looked at with the chip/tune.

I wouldnt worry about lack of support with VAST... if Jordan isnt around, Mike (owner) would be.. and although its not in person support, hes great over the phone.

I'm working with VAST on getting a group buy price for the TB kit right now.

The VAST kit includes: Timing belt tensioner damper, Timing belt tensioner roller, Timing belt idler, Timing belt lever, Timing belt, Accessory belt, Upgraded water pump/gasket, Thermostat/O-ring.

Yeah, you'd have to source the lock bar and pin separately from the TB kit in order to do it yourself...
I might be able to persuade VAST to sell you one (they'd probably have to go out and buy an extra one), and then have them ship it with your kit.

I'll be at Shuswap from Aug 8-12. If you drop the car off next thurs or Fri, that will give me plenty of time to get it done. I have a stage 3 fueling kit job, a suspension job, and another TB job to do before I can get to you though, so I'll be busy this next week!

Piggies aren't that expensive, it's the labor involved that's the expensive part.

I'm very dedicated to my work. I don't know what the future holds, but this much I do know, I will always guarantee to service and support my past customers. There is no need to worry about that. Besides, my fiance would NEVER "tell me" that I can't work on cars anymore (I wouldn't allow that). She knows that I really only have a couple of passions in life, and that cars are one of them!

I just did a K04 turbo job for Andrew (on his A6), and in fact, I just finished it this morning.

He told me to order him a fueling kit, and when it gets here, I'll be installing that as well.
So yeah, another stage 3 around town, but an A6, not an S.
