    right. but i think we can agree for the most part those are found on more track specific pads than what most pad manufacturers would target towards OEM or street driving replacement

      Well, I've found that many OEM-replacement ceramic pads are squealers, and not just when cold, either. Whenever I sell or install a set of ceramic brake pads on a car, I definitely use a liberal amount of anti-squeal paste, and make sure to bed the pads properly. Ceramic pads really aren't necessary unless you drive your car quite aggressively. For most people, an organic/metallic pad is perfectly fine.

      If you're using a particular set of ceramic pads that is actually quiet, knock on wood and run with it

      I certainly agree with you that there are 3 factors in a brake pad- dust, squeal, and braking force. You can usually have 2 of the 3, but rarely can you have all 3 without paying big bucks.
