Re: BaggedGLI - The Rebuild
Valves, pistons, con rods, valve springs&retainers. This way you can completely build the motor for higher RPMs to take advantage of a bigger turbo down the road. Then swapping cams out is easy later.

Re: BaggedGLI - The Rebuild
Not sure yet, gotta look into it, make phone calls, find pricing, re check my empty wallet and just think about what I'm going to do. Considering a stroker kit, not sure just yet though, doing valves, rods, and pistons for sure......Originally posted by VRado6 View PostOuch! That really sucks Colin :( I'm sure you will re-build it and make it even better than before! Are you gonna do any headwork since it's going to need a rebuild anyway?
Wanted to get it apart and examine, if there was no damage, new belt and tensioner and I would have been set to go after tuesday.Originally posted by sabbySC View PostOuch, looks like you are acting quick on the repairs though!
Thanks!Originally posted by PRY4SNO View PostHate to see those things happen, as I've been down that road before.
Best of luck on the rebuild!
Working on it, looking like it wont be till next year, but its going to be a beast I think.Originally posted by rodman View PostJeez Colin, hope to see it running soon bud.

Re: BaggedGLI - The Rebuild
True true.
So there is one section of the belt missing 13 teeth. Down the line, maybe 15-20 teeth down there is one individual one missing. Still waiting to get the belt fully out to see anything else.

Re: BaggedGLI - The Rebuild
I was doing 20km/hour in a residential area while making a turn and it started ticking, i pushed the clutch in and it sputtered out, so I coasted it to ryans house which was like 3 houses down and parked it at the end of his driveway. 2nd gear at about 1,200 rpm. I know how these engines go, I don't think it's pretty but I'm hoping.Originally posted by VWSM View PostThat kind of damage is generally caused by a 5 to 2 downshift generally up hills at a higer rpm causing valve float and piston contact.Head will have to come off.
