                        When you do the manual tensioner, you need to take the hydraulic rod out of the old tensioner and still leave it bolted to the block with the idler roller.

                          Only if you use the 16v tensioner, if you use the IE kit it comes with a roller. No idea what Pat is using though...

                              I don't see an idler in there but honestly what is it going to do? Cause your bearing in your tensioner to wear a bit faster but that is about it. The timing is still dead on because the idler is on the same side as the tensioner. His tensioner will just be clocked at a slightly different angle than ours.....
