What's the big advantage that Vista offers? All I know it that it looks pretty and is a power Hog.

Re: Question for the local computer gurus
Just thought I'd bump this biatch up.
So SAIT sent me a very threatening letter, which was sweet.
Took my laptop back and they're sending me $450 in the mail!
I bought me some parts from mem express. Ended up at around $640.
AMD Athlon 3800+ dual core processor
1GB ram
ASUS M2NPV-VM motherboard
DVD Writer thingy
I dunno it's pretty dope, plus I got a "free' copy of windows vista

Re: Question for the local computer gurus
LOL, ok as we are throwing around configs ill join in with my home PC
Intel dual core 6600 cpu,
4 Gb dual channel DDR2 7200? (not sure about the number) Ram,
2 raptor 36gb HDs in stripe mode (fast as Feck, for C
2 300Gb HDs maxtor scsi for storage
ATI x1950xt gfx card
But back to the point,
Mitch does only want it to use MSN messenger, Play CS 1.6 (10 yr? old game) and surf the interweb so he doesn't need a high spec system really and he hasnt said hell ever want it for more so he doesn't have to worry about upgrading it, the only provider id put on him is no less than 512 ram, go 1gb if you can afford it. Oh and get something of a gfx card , not just as low end as Dell will go.
One thing i forgot to mention Mitch was that guy on Ebaya and his staff all used to work at Mem Express and he built n configed systems for a while for a job so if yu asked m some questions they could answer them for ya!
PS. no its not my company lol
