Re: What are you pet peeves?
In the 3 years I have lived in that area I have personally seen at least 10 cars stuck in that bus trap. If I was a bus driver I would be very pissed off by those morons.

Re: What are you pet peeves?
I hear ya, I lived in New Brighton 5-6 years ago and dealt with the Mckenzie Towne circle all the time, before they had signs explaining how it works and it was just shear mayhem! Even now they've had signs posted showing how the circle works for quite some time and still I bet 80% of the drivers using it are completely retarded or just don't give a $hit thinking they'll drive it as they see fit. I remember about 2-3 years ago some lady almost T-boned me there, then when I pulled into the Max, the lady has the nerve to yell at me calling me an idiot who almost killed her......I nearly lost my f'ing mind! I think I almost had that lady crying by time I was done with her. Man this subject really wriles me up I need a beer!Originally posted by stefan View Postherein lies the problem... i don't like the idea of being on the road with people that are licensed to drive not because they necissarily learned anything, but because they were expected to read about it and practise it during their learners period.
And also.. I don't know any girls from highschool who didn't dress up it the hot clothes for a drivers test. Apparently, looking good improves your driving. I guess it worked for our driving instructor....

Re: What are you pet peeves?
While I never had to do a traffic circle on my actual driver's test (not many around) I do remember it being in the drivers manual and you were expected to learn its operation and that was ~13 years ago. I too hate people that are clueless with traffic circles, I've had a few words before with other idiot drivers and even kicked a cars door while on my crotch rocket because while the other driver was in the outside lane they thought could just keep going past the turnoffs around the circle as they please.
I love the traffic circle it's just all of the other drivers that scare the $hit out of me at times.

Re: What are you pet peeves?
They put a traffic circle Sylvan lake of all places we only had two traffic lights up until a few weeks ago now people just have seizures when they get to the circle its not pretty not pretty at all.
The circle is so difficult for the not so bright as it works on a yield system which people have proved time and time again that they don't understand.
Yield does NOT mean stop it means stop if someones there if no one is coming then keep going.
It is almost as complex as a merge lane which can explode the mind of a Toyota corolla driver in under 2 seconds. (and by Toyota corolla driver i do generally mean immigrant but didn't want to say it for the sensitive people so if you are sensitive stop reading about 2 lines ago.)

Re: What are you pet peeves?
I think our driving program kinda blows in general. I mean, most of this stuff is common sense, in my opinion, but then again.. why is it common sense? You certainly don't learn any better when learning to drive. I mean, as long as you recognise a stop sign, a traffic light, and a speed sign, and can make a car move in a somewhat competent manor, your free to go. The whole system is based on learning by experience, and what you see going on on the road (learners). Since there is hardly ever group of cars that can navigate a traffic circle, or a combination of slow and fast lanes properly, your screwed as a learner. There should be proper driving courses (not just the optional ones), and really, there should be a winter component. And since I'm bitter at the moment, there should be a requirement to test in a standard before you are allowed to drive one.
Of course, I would have though differently when I was getting my license, which took 30 days of having a learners license, and a 1/2hr driver test. And for me, lane changing and parallel parking weren't even an issue because there was neither in Invermere at the time.

i didnt know a eurovan could go that fast
my #1 pet peeve is people who cannot handle a traffic circle correctly. going around halfway around in the outside lane just fucks with everyone. expecially when your blocking my exit and im towing my big work trailer
