Re: Ski/Board Set-Ups!
yeah and weight to an extent. i believe a good way to measure is if the board is between your chin and your nose, like how you would measure a hockey stick. but it does all come down to personal preference. i like a shorter board because it allows for better controll. Longer boards typically are better for powder riding.

I know you spoke English on the last part but I have no idea what you're saying.Originally posted by asp gti View Postfor the most part, yes, but it also depends on ability and what type of riding you want to use the board for.
Also I have a pair of 181 Armada AR7s from 2 years ago for sale, bases are in good shape and all the edges are good as well! Asking $200 with look 14 din bindings!

Re: Ski/Board Set-Ups!
A snowboard can easily fit in the back of the golfs. What you want though is a board bag, and a few towels for afterwards (just for extra protection. I stand my board up behind the passenger seat and lean it against the back seat. With you having a 4 door, it should be no problem at all. I once went out with 2 other buddies in my MK3 2door golf. All equipment in the back seat with one friend sitting back there too. Wasnt the most comfortable, but we made it haha!Originally posted by flipstah View PostGeneral question: I loathe winter sports but snowboarding looks fun to do recreational.
What are the essentials to get? How can I start? Budget?
Will the Golf be able to fit a board through the center pass-through or are those ski's? I don't want to get a roof rack =(

Good to know!Originally posted by CGY_GTI View PostI'm 95% sure a snowboard would fit through the pass-through in a MK6. You'd have to put it on its side, so you'd probably want to use a towel or something to pad the bottom edge off the pass-through, but other that I think you'd be set!
Back on topic... I don't own any equipment and I rarely go skiing... once a year at most, although I do enjoy it!

Re: Ski/Board Set-Ups!
I have Line Invaders as my current set up, but they are a little on the small side. And some rossi scratch's for rock skis that are tiny that I got for like 35$ when I was younger. I also have a set of snowblades...somewhere. Used them once when I was about 10. I miss the times when I was younger and we would get out 35 times a year, now I'm lucky to get out 10.

^to the guy asking about gloves; as you can see in the one pic, I have a set of level gloves. They look awesome, feel great, expensive but really aren't that great at keeping you warm. When I gets cold I wear a pair of leather mitts my grandpa used to wear...best thing ever.
Edit: If there is someone looking for some 140 rock skis for their kid or if you are rather short let me know and you can probs have my old rock skis for next to nothing.Last edited by BolideVW; 10-24-2012, 10:59 PM.
