Re: Project "quicksilver"
Tomorrow. Plan is to get the headers out, clean up the engine bay completely and check out what other minor things need to get taken care of before the engine goes back in next week.

Re: Project "quicksilver"
Do you intend to better the engine output compared to what you had before?

Re: Project "quicksilver"
Should have called this; Just another "mickey mouse" project by people who have no idea what they are doing...but know not to rebuild tranny's without fluid.
And here I thought I was gonna get my parking spot back. This should be sick though.Last edited by RONDAL; 06-18-2008, 02:31 PM.

Project "quicksilver"
Yet another build thread brought to you by the kind folks in Andrew's garage...
The engine's getting strengthened up so I thought it would be a good time to do some other necessary maintenance and to change things up a little... Sold off my supercharger kit and the new plan unfolds like this...
The plan: (No longer TBA... I was waiting for the charger kit to sell for sure before going ahead...)
-SPA 7000H Turbo
-Kinetic Motorsport VR6 Manifold
-Polished C2 Shortrunner Intake Manifold
-TiAL 38mm Wastegate
-Turbosmart Vee-port Blowoff Valve
-3" Downpipe (Heat wrapped)
-Braided Oil Lines and Oil Pan with fittings
-Kinetic Motorsport Silicone Hoses and Stainless Steel Clamps
-8.5:1 Stainless Steel Head Spacer
-ARP headstuds
-ARP rod bolts
-42# Bosch Fuel Injectors
-C2 Motorsports 42# Software
-Walbro inline fuel pump
-more custom intercooler piping by Calgary Autoworks!! (Thanks Guys!!)
-Greddy Profec B Spec II electronic Boost controller
-deleting secondary air injection
-billet MasonTech waterpipe (crackpipe)
-new low temp (70 degree) thermostat and thermostat housing
-new low temp (75-82 degree) fan switch
-new serpentine belt
-new timing chains
-new rear main seal
After a couple of hours in the garage last night, we have the engine almost out. It will be going to Lawrence at Calgary Autoworks to get things machined and built up. The rest of the work... myself, Graeme, Andrew and others will do doing.
Pictures to follow...Last edited by Circuits; 08-04-2008, 02:14 PM.Tags: None
