Re: Countdown to Snow...
Engine braking works best to slow down but turning is pretty much nonexistant with all seasons.

Re: Countdown to Snow...
I am on dedicated winters also with AWD.
All seasons will be fine when you accelerate but it's turning and stopping where the winter tires really shine.

Re: Countdown to Snow...
Just put on the winters last weekend. I'm sure All-seasons will be fine for 99% of the driving you'll encounter (never ran All-seasons myself). However, the traction with winters is freakish.Originally posted by jacktown View PostHey Deuce,

I ran last winter on the all seasons and found I was ok. Just wondered how much better I could expect it to be with winters.
Cheers!
I'm not sure how to explain the difference other than when you have All-seasons and AWD... you'll get almost everywhere and be smart about what roads/hills you choose to travel on in inclement conditions. With AWD and winters... you will seek out roads that others can't make it down, pass cars up hills who can't make it up... and my personal favourite... give the 4x4 Chevy/Ford/Dodge/etc. boys a run for their money on straight-line drags.
It's up to you... but for me... dedicated summers and winters FTMFW!!!

2 seasons ago in the race city parking lot, last year it was on some dudes farm but I didn't go (near red deer). Location unknown this year. Pretty serious with real timing and prizes etc.Last edited by Khyron; 11-20-2009, 09:38 PM.

Re: Countdown to Snow...
My guess is that it is over or nearly over the 100,000 km mark at that price. Definitely looks clean however, the devil always lies in the test drive.
Personally, I'd rather pay more to get a 1-owner low mileage .:R. But to each his own. I guess it's all about your risk tolerance.
On second thought... screw the 4-motion... perhaps all you need is a VR6 upgrade...

Re: Countdown to Snow...
Timing chains should theoretically be done at 160,000km's (100,000 miles). There are many people on vortex who have well over that mileage and haven't replaced the chain.
