Re: Countdown to Snow...
How is that an 'Alberta Car', and '1 owner'. I mean yeah, it's been imported and inspected, but it had to come from somewhere else unless he bought it new and stored in his garage until they could be insured and licensed in Canada.
If only #3 hadn't shown up a month ago I'd be all over this. Paul, I think the VR6's have less to worry about compared to a 1.8T. Timing chain around 100k I think and that's about it. They will run a very very long time as long as you do a good job with the oil changes.

Re: Countdown to Snow...
Yeah I saw that, looks well kept, and not too overpriced. Wonder how many miles it has? What would be the milage to stay away from? Do the R32's have the same needs as a 1.8t? (things like timing belt, water pump, etc.)
Sorry to take this thread of course, but you asked for it with those great pics you have there.

But seriously... a new windshield is like $200 for a MK4... so why not. At the end of the day... if I only wanted to drive my car 7 months of the year, I would have bought an M3. Mmmmm... M3.
Cheers...Last edited by Deuce; 11-04-2009, 08:20 PM.

Re: Countdown to Snow...

psssshhhh...winter cars....its all about being slammed on 15's + winter tires. My bro reps hard, daily driven in -40c in good ol TOONTOWN SK. Front end is chipped to hell, he's had multiple rocks go through the windshield on trips to/from Calgary. Most recent injury was a huge rock that destroyed the bug/rock deflector on the front. Somehow she still shines up when summer comes around
You should be doriftoing that S4 yo.

Re: Countdown to Snow...
I'm probably gonna jinx myself, but I drove memorial to deerfoot to airport every day for 2+ years, and now I drive from the far W of glenmore to the far E of glenmore and I don't even have a crack on my original 02 windshield.Originally posted by Ryan View Postmudflaps go so far for sure
i'm talking about your windshield, roof line, front bumper, head lights
of course it depends on what roads you need to take to work.. ie deerfoot=car death, crowchild=car death
almost every road in calgary=car death
Definately a lot of rock chips on the bumper, but if I had an S4 for WINTER driving there's no friggin way I'd be rocking a leBaron.
