I remember it snowing last year on May 9th - I had to ride my motorcycle to CityTV that day to promote my motorcycle trip.

Fortunately this year I have a beater (the vangina) in addition to the Jetta.

I usually wait till early May as my work does not allow me a lot of time to do the switch till then anyways. They have been street cleaning Macleod in the late night super early am last week so some streets are going to be rock free soon.

The most notorious pot hole I've seen recently was just fixed last week, again. On 1st Street SE as your going under the railroad tracks on the far west lane. There has been a pot hole there for ages, but it grew rapidly with some constant water pouring down the street. It eroded probably four separate "repair jobs" over the course of a couple months.

Put the summers on this weekend on the mk4, Brand new yokahama avids so not too worried about light snow and if its is really bad the wife doesnt go out.
mk3 winters till may 1 I need to get to work and the summers are terrible in snow.

I'm surprised. For the couple summers I ran my P-Zero Nero's, the switch to winters was pretty night and day in terms of snow/ice handling, IMO.

Hmm that's strange. I cut through the snow pretty good and the only time I would slide around is when I pull the E-brake :P

Starting to accelerate on ice from red lights may have been the only problem I had with them on.

So much gravel out though, and anyone notice how BAD the roads are in terms of pot holes? I have NEVER seen so many around my area that are just massive.

May at least... salt and gravel will destroy nice wheels in 1-2 seasons

People who drive on summer on the snow should have their insurance voided.... just like it is in Germany.

Put mine on a little while ago, but i drive my winter car unless the roads are dry and its sunny.
