    yes I have seen the inside of a cat and based on design it is a restriction but has a function, I would think that leaving the cats functioning and gutting the pre cats would give you a power increase and still keep you emissions in check.
    I would love to see a dyno run with no other modifications to the system besides gutting cats and see what kind of difference in power it makes.
    Been driving VAG for longer then allot of the members have been alive
